SEMINAR/WORKSHOPS
EQUIPPING for
MINISTRY in a MULTIMEDIA GENERATION
How we learn and
communicate has changed. We are living in a multimedia
post-modern generation.
Anyone who seeks to communicate needs to realize the effects of
the changes in media.
Christianity and the Church have one of the greatest challenges.
We cannot change the message but the delivery method must
change. Studies by the BARNA institute show we are NOT
communicating a clear message in a way that this generation will
understand and accept the message.
This workshop is designed to help equip church leaders and
teachers to improve the communication of biblical truth to this
generation.
Session # 1- Facing
the Problems
We must face the reality of the changes in how people think,
learn, and relate to biblical truth. You will discover some very
disturbing statistics about what people believe and don’t
believe today. This session will help you to understand the
influences related to these statistics.
Session # 2 - Focusing on the Priority
We must “keep the most
important thing the most important thing.” The most important
thing is biblical exposition. Three key issues are considered in
this session: (1) How to prepare for biblical exposition, (2)
How to explain theological concepts, and (3) How to apply
biblical truth to life.
Session # 3 - Designing the Presentation
Once we have carefully
prepared the message we need to learn to deliver the message so
that people will listen and learn. This session is very
practical in helping to develop methods of communication that
relate to the multimedia generation. You will learn the values
and limitations of multimedia presentations. “How to” steps that
can transform your teaching will be shared.
Custom
Design
The philosophy and conviction of BBM is that each church is
uniquely designed by God. Therefore it is our intention to
design each workshop or consultation ministry to meet the
church’s need. The workshop format provides us with an
opportunity through interaction to apply principles to specific
needs and objectives.
Special Applications
The focus of this workshop is directed at teaching ministries.
However, it can also be applied to many other areas of ministry.
The basic areas of application are:
-
Sunday School teachers
-
Small
group leaders
-
Leadership
-
Worship planning
-
Preaching
-
Evangelism
The
workshops include use of PowerPoint, drama, dynamic
illustration, video, and more.
SCHEDULE
The seminar/workshop and consultation is scheduled to meet the needs of the individual church. Usually a preliminary informational session is held with the search committee and/or board of the church.
