WorldVenture can help you create your strategy through a
two-step process.
Step One:
Do the Design Your Impact Workshop.
This workshop will give you and your church leaders the
information and inspiration needed to design just the strategy
you want.
Step Two:
Follow up the workshop with a Design Your Impact Coach (DYI
Coach).
Why bother with a coach?
1.
The Design Your Impact Workshop is a great start but you know
how hard it is to take workshop material and actually put it
into practice. A DYI coach will help you go from workshop to
reality. Your DYI Coach will be gifted in critical thinking and
planning.
2.
Introducing a new strategy in a church—changing the status
quo—can be tricky. Your DYI Coach can help you recognize and
meet the challenges.
3.
Your DYI Coach can serve as an independent, outside sounding
board and provide ideas, encouragement, and prayer support.
4.
Your DYI Coach can connect you with the vast network of
resources and people connected with WorldVenture. The DYI Coach
probably will not be a walking expert in missions, but s/he will
have access to a world of expertise through us.
What the coach will do.
Here’s a generic summary of the DYI Coach’s role. Naturally, it
needs to be adapted for your situation.
1.
Attend the DYI Workshop with you and your leaders. During the
workshop, interact with you and explore the value of linking up
as a DYI coach.
2.
Commit to walking alongside you or your missions strategy point
person for the next six months, regularly meeting to help you
with the process of choosing your strategic focus, as well as
designing and implementing your strategy.
Your responsibility
DYI Coaches are volunteers so your church would only be
responsible to cover reasonable incidental expenses and
transportation costs. This will be customized to your situation.

SCHEDULE
The seminar/workshop and consultation is scheduled to meet the needs of the individual church. Usually a preliminary informational session is held with the search committee and/or board of the church.
CONSULTANT
Dr. Gary R. Becker has more than twenty-five years of experience in pastoral ministries. He has pastored churches in a major evangelical association and an independent church. Educationally, he holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Theology degrees from Northeastern Bible College, a Masters in Theological Education from New Brunswick Seminary,
completed courses at Luther Rice Seminary, and has earned his
Doctorate in Practical Theology from Masters School of Divinity. He is the president and executive director of Biblically Balanced Ministries, Inc. This ministry gives him an opportunity to share his experience in coming alongside churches and
pastors.
