UNITY - Created or Discovered and Preserved?
The history of Christianity, particularly in the last
two centuries, has attempted to create unity between
denominations and churches. Local churches have struggled to
create unity in the church. Pastors have faced some of their
greatest battles with disunity in staff and board relationships.
Biblically we are not called to create unity. We are
challenged to “preserve the unity of the Spirit in the
bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:3).
“Team Building” seminar/workshops are designed to help
Christians churches discover the biblical foundations and the
practical steps to preserve the unity through team
relationships.
SESSION 1
DISCOVERING THE FOUNDATIONS
True unity and team relationships are based on biblical
principles. The workshops begin by focusing on these biblical
principles.
SESSION 2
THE OBSTACLES TEAMS FACE
Our culture, personalities, and past experiences are just a few
of the obstacles to effective team relationships. Obstacles are
identified and explored as challenges to building the team
relationship.
SESSION 3
INTEGRATING BIBLICAL & PRACTICAL
Management practices can either reflect biblical principles or
deny them. The workshop examines and relates management
principles without compromise of biblical truth.
SESSION 4
DEVELOPING CHURCH TEAMS
Principles and practices discovered are applied to relationships
in ministry teams, board relationships, and the church at large.
ADDED FEATURES:
Building a unified staff
Personal Ministry Profiles
The influence of spiritual gifts
Doctrinal influences
Avoiding and overcoming conflict
Defining board positions
Elder and deacon development
SCHEDULE
The seminar/workshop and consultation is scheduled to meet the needs of the individual church. Usually a preliminary informational session is held with the search committee and/or board of the church.
